Calum Hood is an Australian musician and songwriter best known as the bassist and a vocalist of the internationally successful pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS). Born on January 25, 1996, in Mount Druitt, New South Wales, he is of Scottish and Māori descent. Originally aspiring to become a professional soccer player, Calum chose to pursue music instead, eventually forming 5SOS with friends Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin. Known for his deep, melodic bass lines and smooth vocal harmonies, he has played a key role in the band’s evolution from teenage YouTube cover artists to global chart-toppers.
